Assignment 8

Good Morning Students! For our blogging exercise to today we will begin writing essays. Essays are great for expressing your thoughts and feelings in depth. I would like you to choose one of the following topics and write a five paragraph essay:
1. The Advantages of Living on Saipan
2. The Advantages of Living in a Big City
3. Two Popular Restaurants Contrasted
4. My Best Friend and I Compared

Remember that your essays should contain an introduction paragraph , a thesis statement ( the last sentence of your introduction paragraph), three supporting paragraphs, and a concluding paragraph. Have fun writing essays.

Good Morning Students,
Today I would like you to write an opinion paragraph on one of the following topics:

The Most Important Thing In Life
Women Should be Allowed in Combat
Rap Music Should be Outlawed
School Examinations Should Be Abolished
Abortions Should be Made Illegal

Be sure to give clear reasons for your position and consider both sides of the arguement. As with all paragraphs, write concise topic sentences, relative supporting sentences with transitions words , and effective closing sentences. Have fun writing. Good morming Students,
Let's get into the descriptive writing mood.Descriptive writing requires you to really use all your senses and imagination. I would like you to be an artist with words. Describe a place or an object. Close your eyes for a moment . Imagine yourself at the place you want to describe or at one with the object you want to describe . What do you see? What do you hear? What do you smell? How does it taste? How does it feel? What does your sixth sense tell you? Open your eyes and write.

Remember that in a process paragraph you teach your audience "how-to" do something. Write a clear topic sentence, supporting sentences, and a closing sentence. Also , use transition words.
